Grande ORCA 2012 Winners!
The sun shone on the Grande ORCAs yesterday, as guest MC Mike Hosking led the proceedings at Atico Cocina . For the third year in a row, our annual award ceremony saw one creative duo walk away with both big prizes.
Publicis Mojo’s Jack Delmonte and Hadleigh Sinclair scooped the People’s Choice and Grande ORCA award with their Subway Low Fat campaign, a big hit with this year’s judges Josh Lancaster, Jamie Hitchcock, Philip Andrew, James Mok, Anne Boothroyd and Regan Grafton. Judges described their campaign as “Standout radio. Great script, great writing and clever production.” “I love this campaign, beautifully written” “Simply f*cking funny!” and as having “Relentless gags and … a brave, honest approach from someone like Subway - talking to fatties about being fat, something much closer to their hearts perhaps than health and wellbeing.” Jack and Hadleigh’s campaign was also the landslide choice for the 600+ advertising, radio and creative folk who took time out to vote for the People’s Choice Award.
As the winning client, Subway wins a radio schedule to the ratecard value of $50,000 (so keep an ear out for more Jack and Hadleigh comedy genius!) A Double Whammy for the Hairy Neck Dumpling Duo!
As double winners, Jack and Hadleigh walk away with $1,000 cash, glitzy glass trophies and a trip to the south of France to see their work showcased at the Cannes Radio Lions. And despite a long night of celebrations, the guys were up early knocking on our front door to claim their comedy oversized cheques (apparently one of their top bucket-list items!)
