About Peak FM

Peak FM is the long-standing local station for the Ruapehu district, broadcasting a classic hits playlist across multiple frequencies from Taihape to Taumarunui. With 31 years on air, Peak FM is a familiar part of daily life in the region, offering a great workplace soundtrack and trusted local voices across a wide coverage area.

Audience:

Peak FM’s audience is primarily adults aged 35–64, spread across the small towns and rural communities of the central plateau. They include farmers, tradespeople, business owners, and families who rely on radio as a key source of entertainment and connection. In many of these towns, radio choice is limited, making Peak FM a central part of the local soundscape and community identity.
